Saint Francis Health System Lead, Biomed Elect Specialist in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Job Summary: Reporting to the biomedical engineering manager and biomedical engineering team lead functions as a working lead for a team of biomedical engineers. The team lead is expected to make appropriate work assignments, provide support, and expertise to ensure the completion of the assigned team's responsibilities/work assignments. In addition to the team lead responsibilities, the biomedical engineering team lead will repair, calibrate, maintain medical equipment, and instrumentation used in the healthcare field. Responds to service calls to perform repair/preventative maintenance on biomedical equipment, while ensuring a safe operation and effective performance of medical equipment by conducting approved programs for quality control/assurance. Maintain operational knowledge of medical devices, measuring devices, knowledge of manufacturer's repair manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive-maintenance schedules. Documents repair action and submit reports/paperwork in a timely manner. Ensure proper care of tools, other related/assigned equipment, and shares on-call responsibilities. Demonstrates/explains correct operation of equipment to medical personnel; and provides guidance or instruction on the correct operation and maintenance of medical equipment.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree preferred in one of the following fields - Biomedical Equipment Service Technology, Electronic Service Technology, or Computer Service Technology from an accredited program or equivalent experience in military Biomedical Equipment Testing.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: 5-7 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment preventative and corrective maintenance standards. Skilled in the use of testing instruments, devices, simulators and tools associated with servicing electronic equipment. Strong problem solving skills with proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve equipment repairs. Good leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with individuals at all levels. Good planning and organization skills, able to balance priorities among multiple assigned tasks and duties. Good verbal and written skills required. Customer service focused with attention to detail; results oriented Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Able to follow department policies, procedures, managerial guidance and good judgment in decision making process.
