Job Summary:

The Director of Perioperative Services is responsible for the coordination of all preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative patient care that is delivered in multiple departments. The focus will be on achieving national quality benchmarks including patient satisfaction, patient flow, prevention of surgical harm, and core measures. The Director of Perianesthesia Services will direct all related staff and be directly responsible for staffing to maximizing patient flow. This role will serve as liaison to in order to develop processes and procedures to improve patient assessment and handoffs between levels of care. Must show evidence of change management with identified goals. The Director will have direct reports. This role has revenue and expense accountability as well as autonomy for operational decisions and planning.


Completion of a state approved Registered Nurse program culminating in a BSN required. Master's degree in Nursing, Business or related Healthcare field preferred.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification:

Valid State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse licensure.

Work Experience:

5 - 7 years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Good computer skills adaptable to a wide variety of hospital programs as well as Word, Excel, Power Point. Demonstrated and broad understanding of budgetary matters, strategic planning, financial reporting and analysis. Must have ability to have an excellent grasp of hospital policies as they relate to managerial guidelines. Demonstrated ability to apply and displays critical thinking skills applied to effective communications with administration, physicians, department heads, staff and vendors. Communicates effectively and skillfully in writing, phone and face to face contact. Ability to and is comfortable in making autonomous decisions within the scope of the defined job description.
