Job Summary: Operates mammography equipment to produce radiographic images of the breast for screening exams under the general supervision of a radiologist.
Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program. Must have received 40 hours documented training specific to mammography and 8 hours modality specific digital training in accordance with Mammograph Quality Standards Act.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and must be Certified in Mammography within nine months from date of hire.
Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Competent to perform screening mammograms on men and women of mammography age 18 - 100 years. Demonstrated skills and knowledge of mammography unit and basic positioning skills. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
